In just over two weeks I will be taking part in the first ever, ‘I Made It’ market day in Gympie. The event is being organised by Kerry Aitken, Robyn Hamilton and Helen Shadbolt on behalf of the Australian Institute of Country Music (AICM) to raise funds for their students, some of whom will be performing on the day.
Along with music, face painting, a canteen, and sausage sizzle running throughout the day, the ‘I Made It’ market day will give local businesses and groups an opportunity to connect with members of the Gympie community and demonstrate the talent we have in our local area. A number of unique stalls will be offering children’s toys and clothing, soaps, jewellery, handbags, screen printing, art, and more. Oh, and being held indoors, you won’t have to worry about chilly winds or rain putting a dampener on the day!
So, what will you find at my stall? I will have a range of truffles, rocky road, chocolate mice and lollipops of various shapes and flavours, including some lollipop bouquets. Marshmallows, peppermint creams…the list goes on! A large selection of gluten free items will also be available.
Come and say ‘hi’ on the day to see the full range of cakes and confectionery. I’m sure you’ll find something to satisfy your sweet tooth!
Make a note in your calendars: The first ever AICM ‘I Made It’ market day will be held in the AICM building, 26 Channon Street, Gympie on Saturday July 14, 2012. Running from 9am until 2pm, it is sure to be a great day of fun and entertainment. Keep an eye out for event flyers around town and more information in The Gympie Times found under ‘Markets’ in the classifieds section, and an editorial closer to the date. I hope to see you there!
