Tea for two with a chocolate twist

 

When the beautiful jacaranda trees start to flower each year, I always think of my little sister, Jo. To me, those bright purple petals are a reminder that her birthday is just around the corner.

While I won’t be able to celebrate with her in person this year, I couldn’t let the occasion go by without making something special in honour of her day.

 

Tea for two: Chocolate teapot, cups, saucers & spoons. The red cup and saucer is raspberry flavoured, and the blue is tutti frutti. Roses & leaves made from flower paste.

 

We both love a good cup of tea, so I decided to make us a pot of tea with a chocolate twist.

On her next visit home, I’ll be sure to have ready a slice or two of one of her favourite cakes from when we were children: a chocolate swiss roll with ice-cream filling.

Until then…I’m sure she won’t mind if I eat her share of the chocolate teapot! Happy birthday, Jo.
