Ice cream cake and puppy pops

There has been quite a lot happening at Bonnie’s Cakes & Kandies lately, so today’s post is a bit of a mixed bag.

I would first like to say a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Gympie Veterinary Services. Our puppy, Tina, was very sick recently and the team at GVS were wonderful in finding out what was wrong, helping Tina back to good health, and keeping us updated throughout the process. Tina is a 7 1/2 month old Australian Cattle Dog or Blue Heeler and, as with most pets, she is very much a part of the family.

As a small gesture of thanks for going above and beyond, I made some fairy floss flavoured puppy pops (dog-shaped lollipops) for the staff. Thank you to everyone at Gympie Veterinary Services for such kind and caring assistance.

Thank you Gympie Veterinary Services for taking such wonderful care of our puppy, Tina.

Now, I did mention ice cream cake in the title of this post, didn’t I. Don’t worry, I haven’t forgotten!

I’ve been enjoying making lots of great cakes and confectionery recently, but ice cream is one of my personal favourite treats, so I’ve chosen this cake to share with you today.

I had an order for a vanilla choc chip ice cream cake for a birthday celebration in Gympie last weekend. Along with the cake, I made 20 cake pops from mud cake in a variety of dark, milk and white chocolate coatings, with chocolate swirls to decorate.

Let’s take a look at the treats:

Vanilla choc chip ice cream cake with strawberry and chocolate ice cream cones around the sides of the cake. Design adapted from a picture supplied by my customer; original designer unknown.

Assorted choc mud cake pops dipped in dark, milk & white chocolate coatings and decorated with chocolate swirls. Chocolate heaven!

I hope you have enjoyed today’s post. Coming up in the next post: we’re going dancing!

Thank you again to Gympie Veterinary Services, and also to all of my customers for their orders. Thanks also to you for reading!
