Rain and clouds no match for a love that shines {Noosa wedding cake}

In the first few days of 2017, a happy couple exchanged vows and celebrated their marriage with family and friends in Noosa Heads on the Sunshine Coast. The couple flew all the way over from England for a beach wedding, however the Australian summer did not deliver the shining sun that was hoped for on the day itself. Despite cloudy skies and more than a little rain on their wedding day, I have no doubt that the smiles of the beautiful bride and her groom were more radiant than any rays the sun could have provided.

Let’s take a look at their cake!

The wedding cake consisted of a cutting cake with a tower of cupcakes underneath. Guests were spoilt with a choice of three delicious flavours: macadamia, dark chocolate mud, and white chocolate raspberry mud – yum!

The reception was held at the Boardwalk Bistro on Hastings. Fresh flowers and a non-edible cake topper decorated the top tier, and I made edible gumpaste flowers for each of the cupcakes, with the colours all selected to match with the wedding theme.

The bride’s sister was so kind in organising the cake, and I received a lovely note from her after the wedding.

Hi Bonnie.

I just wanted to say a big thank you for my sister’s cupcakes and cakes. They were absolutely perfect – we couldn’t have asked for anything better!!

Well, it certainly was my pleasure. Despite the rain and the clouds, and a very slow drive down to Noosa Heads for the delivery and set up, this was a wonderful way to start my year. My very best wishes to the happy couple!
