The perfect match of fruit and chocolate on Valentine’s Day {Caloundra Wedding Cake}


Kylie & Brad were married on Valentine’s Day this year, with their reception held at the Caloundra Power Boat Club on the Sunshine Coast. As I made the drive from my commercial kitchen just north of Gympie, down to Caloundra, I found myself becoming hungrier and hungrier! Despite being packed up carefully for the trip, the beautiful, rich, sweet scent of chocolate and fresh fruit filled the air – what a heavenly combination!

Kylie and Brad chose caramel mud cake for the flavour of their top tier, and white chocolate coconut mud cake for the bottom tier. Both tiers were filled with the same delicious dark chocolate ganache that I used to cover the cake. Completing the look, I added fresh summer fruits to the outside of the cake, including strawberries, raspberries, and blueberries. Yum, yum, and yum!

This was my first wedding cake delivery to the Caloundra Power Boat Club, and I must say, the venue was decorated beautifully for Kylie & Brad’s reception.
