Two ladies recently celebrated their 50th birthdays in Gympie with friends, family, and delicious cakes from Bonnie’s Cakes & Kandies!
Here’s a little look at each of the cakes – both different in style and flavour…
Dark Chocolate Ganache and Summer Fruits:
If you like rich, smooth dark chocolate paired with juicy, fresh fruits then this cake may have your mouth watering just at the thought of it!
A selection of kiwi fruits, raspberries, blackberries, blueberries, and strawberries were cut and arranged over two tiers of white chocolate mud cake and chocolate fudge cake. Each tier was filled will more beautiful, dark chocolate ganache, to add to the rich, chocolate flavour.
You can see below that some of the strawberries were even dressed in chocolate tuxedos for the special occasion. What a great cake to celebrate with!My customer told me that the cake was devoured, with not a single piece left over!
White Chocolate Fondant and a Classic Open Rose:
The second of the two 50th birthday cakes has more of a ‘classic’ look. Organised by the daughter of the lucky birthday girl, the cake was delivered to Kingston House Impressions for the event.
Designed from a purple and silver theme, I made a single, large open rose in deep purple with silver stamens to decorate the top tier. With a few silver leaves to finish off the look, this statement flower was all the decoration that was necessary for the top tier.
A small, piped scallop border on the the top of the bottom tier added just a touch of interest, and continued the classic-feel of the cake’s design. Silver ribbon around the base of each tier tied everything together nicely to complete the look.
Both tiers were covered in my rolled white chocolate fondant, and filled with delicious white chocolate buttercream. With each tier a different flavour, guests at the party had the choice of either caramel mud cake or dark chocolate mud cake.
Thank you to both of my customers for choosing Bonnie’s Cakes & Kandies to help make two very special occasions that little bit more special!
