Two people very much in love celebrated their marriage earlier this month with the help of family and friends at Gunabul Homestead in Gympie. On arrival, I spotted the hard-working ladies from Amore Wedding Stylists and Decorators. As usual, they had done a beautiful job of decorating the venue for both the ceremony and reception. I was very pleased to play a part in helping to make the day just a little bit sweeter, and am happy to share some of my photos with you in this post.
Emma and Chris – the happy couple – opted for a modern design with striking red and white colours in a topsy turvy shape. Inspired by Elite Cake Designs, their cake featured red and white vertical stripes, along with balls of rolled fondant around the top and bottom tiers. Tens of small red and white blossoms were arranged mainly around the base of the middle tier and added a hint of softness to the otherwise quite bold design!
I loved the cake topper that Emma & Chris chose for the day: two separate wooden puzzle pieces, which join together to say, ‘meant to be’. The sweet little lovebirds on the toppers reminded me immediately of my cake signature! With this in mind, I chose to place my icing lovebirds off to the side on the fondant-covered baseboard. In this spot, they would complement the toppers, without taking away too much attention from the overall design.
There’s just one thing left to discuss…flavours! Emma & Chris chose three different flavours, offering their guests a choice between dark chocolate mud cake, white chocolate mud cake, and traditional fruit cake.
Thank you to Emma & Chris for choosing Bonnie’s Cakes & Kandies – I loved creating your striking, red and white wedding cake! I wish you all the very best for a future that burns brightly with the love that you have for each other. Congratulations.
